이번 작품에서는 다국적의 사람들 속에 작가의 정체성과 다른 문화적 환경 사이에서의 경험을 재구성한 신작이다. 최근 작가는 고정된 개념과 편견이 어떻게 우리의 시선을 형성하고, 현실과의 간극을 만들어내는지에 주목해왔다. 작가는 해외에서 한국음식점을 운영하는 중국인을 보면서 이중적인 정체성의 경험을 고유성이 흐려진 경계와 혼재된 상태로 묘사하며, 이방인과 방인의 혼재에 관한 자신의 생각을 담아낸다. 퍼포먼스 비디오를 통해 작가와 조각의 상황과 감정을 드러내어 각자의 정체성을 유지하면서도 함께 공존하는 방법을 모색하고자 한다.
This work is a new work that reconstructs the author's identity among multinational people and his experiences among different cultural environments. Recently, the author has focused on how fixed concepts and prejudices shape our perspectives and create a gap with reality. Looking at Chinese people running Korean restaurants overseas, the author describes the experience of dual identity as a state where uniqueness is mixed with blurred boundaries, and expresses his thoughts on the mixing of strangers and outsiders. Through performance video, we aim to reveal the situations and emotions of the artist and the sculpture to find a way to coexist while maintaining their individual identities.
